One issue which I discussed with our managers yesterday was the lack of ability to illustrate accurately a jagged line. See below snap shot of the progress line with the late tasks switched on. As can be seen even when partial progress is show (in blue) the jagged line goes to the start of the task.

This is a standard method of reporting in construction, where we use the jagged line to illustrate where we are on programme. Additionally in asta we use the Slip column to show whether we are ahead or behind on tasks and more importantly summary tasks, thus quickly knowing where the overall project is on programme. With Synchro I am currently rescheduling to inform our position on programme.
