In a non-iModel workflow, we have to first select the type of Manipulator (Simple/Advanced) and then thats automatically applied for Edit as Assigned. There is not way to change it after selecting Edit as Assigned.
In a iModel workflow, there is no option to change any 3D Manipulator setting, so it carries over the settings from the previous project instance. To use Advanced Manipulator for Edit as Assigned, I have to first open a local project > select the Manipulator type > open Control project.
SHIFT+M can change manipulator type when working on iMode/ Control project. Available in 2021.2 (6.4.2)
