This is common when Users are importing statuses from another statusing software - they run the import weekly, while there may be multiple status updates against the same resource in the past week, and they don't have the data of when the update was recorded (or they were recorded on the same date).
For example, SYNCHRO fails to capture "Erected" because the status date is on the same date as "Detailed", and "Detailed" takes precedence. (As shown below)
However, if the dates are stepped out both statuses are imported successfully.
Would be great if this limitation can be removed.
Maria,
The long and short is, YES we are updating resource statuses using Excel. Currently our workflow is utilizing a platform called Versatile to track steel & curtain wall elements that are picked from the site crane. However, utilizing excel, we could unlock multiple platforms for updating our statuses within Synchro. I have attached a snippet of our current workflow. This snippet highlights the Export/VBA/Import process from Versatile to Synchro.
Since this post has been created, our teams have talked internally and realized that we will rarely, if ever, have multiple statuses with the same dates. This post was created to "band-aid" fix our current synchro model and my not be 100% necessary or critical for immediate development. That being said, our teams have moved to "trimming" down the statuses and try to utilize a single status where it makes sense. I.E. Steel = "Erected" (Detailed status depends on what client wants to track), Curtainwall = "Erected" (no other status necessary), Metal Deck = "InProgress"; "Completed", SOMD = "" ; ""
Hope this helps! Feel Free to reach out directly if you would like to discuss further.
Hello, and thank you for submitting your idea. Could you please elaborate on the workflow you are currently using? Are you updating the resource statuses using Excel?
