Hi,
In Revit, some elements are modelling as linked assemblies for example walls. There are actually some layers for walls and each layer is a material with its own properties like cost or thickness etc. when they are modelled in Revit. However, when the model imports into Synchro, layers are no longer available, and they become a solid object with no layer. These layers can only be reachable when the layered model is modeled by indiviual layers instead of model families. Modelling the layers indiviually is not practical and also it affects the smoothness of model by large file sizes. If Synhro allows to work with the layers seperately in 3D Object tree or Resource tree, more accurate and more effective schedules and cost estimations could be done.
Taha - thanks for getting back to me. Can you provide me two files, one as the orginal, the other as the file that already converted assemblies to parts?
Next question is whether all assemblies need to be converted to parts, or only partial is needed to convert to parts - this way you can still control the file size.
Hi Jacqueline
We've tried this method once. Even now we are working large models, after creating parts file sizes became enormously large, model stability reduced, and all assembly names such as a wall assembly converted to a name 'Parts'. Also for consistent QTO for materials, Creating parts is not a feasible solution. If you are able to make improvements in that term, by term I mean Revit-Like material recognizing and assigning material to tasks, will be awesome for all Synchro users.
Hi - I checked with our consultants and they suggested that the assemblies to be converted to parts then they could be exported and imported into Pro. Can you check if this is already possible?
