Cost type issue for different resource types

If you add cost to e.g. a resource and you edit the details in the resource properties widget then you get the following options for the type:

Also note that the default effective date defaults to 1/2/1970. I think there’s probably no use case atm to use this date as the effective date by default? I guess we should default to the data date.

Now if we go to the resources widget and activate the cost type column, we get much more options for the type (monthly, quarterly, weekly, yearly):

If the type is set to weekly but the task only lasts for 5 days, then it should still charge for the full week in total costs. Currently it shows 0 in total costs because it is less than a week which is incorrect.

For that reason, they cannot use the cost functionality.

Thanks for submitting the defect. We looked at the issue and our dev team confirmed that this is a defect and was introduced when adding support to update Cost type in Resources window.

Dev notes: "Initially cost type can be set only in Resource Properties > Costs and there the list of costs was limited. The column "Cost Type" in Resource Table was implemented later and without any limitation on cost types. "

So to make sure calculation works refer to this section in help to understand the Cost Types that apply to different Resource types:
