So Kent Ampol refinery project is up and running. But theres been a delay on procuring their site safe tablets. So the users do site log via the web. so the activity comment entry doesnt default to include in reports and todays date for web entries. so the users just forgot to do that post training (and ongoing. site has even done a refresher). So the person creating the daily site report typically has to go through the log every day and edit some comments and photos to be included in the report where the date and inclusion items are null. this is a bit of work sometimes. Obviously this problem goes away when they use the mobile as it defaults to todays date and true. it seems the preferable behaviour would be to include comments but exclude by exception. so make the web and mobile behave the same way?
What about some AI learning like with notifiable users? so if a user selects todays date and include in reports this is their comment behaviour going forward till they opt out?
It just seems the current settings means projects doing web log entries nearly always "miss" log entries in reports as opposed to including an erroneous item in reports?
This would need to be a new Project Setting that could be controlled by the users (something like "Make all discussion items (comments and photos) default to today's date and always show on reports") as it is different to the current default behaviour.
Can I ask what the use case is for this request as the bulk of our users would not want comments and photos automatically added to Reports?
Also, please be aware that the Photo widget has a "Show on reports" parameter, which defaults to "True" but can be set to "FALSE", which, when set to FALSE, would show all Photos and their associated comments for the day they were uploaded.
Thanks Luke,

Hi Phil,
Thanks for raising this.
