Site engineer would use their phone scan the QR code on a paper drawing to check whether it's still current (get a big green tick on) or has been superseded (big red cross). Would help to ensure that old drawing are not used. If an old drawing were to be used (either willfully or by mistake) then the audit trail would show whether anyone had checked the drawing's status before using it. Improves QA/QC and reduces claims for rework.
