Thank you for submitting an idea. Please provide the problem, user needs and high-level requirements, any screenshot or recording that may help our team understand this.
Problem to solve: The ability to open the schedule view and not see any playback of schedule and model interaction.
User needs: For opening the schedule tab to default to the Synchro Schedule View or latest schedule enabled view created from the platform. This would be if the default view at time of opening is not already schedule enabled.
High-level requirements: Functionally, how this idea would determine which view to open should be dependent on creation date. This would improve workflow because the default view would be independent from schedule enablement. Increasing user accessibility within one iModel.
Bentley colleagues must make efforts to provide insights to the team to consider prioritizing this, too:
Reach: how many users in your organization would use this, if this is implemented?
For Bentley colleagues, please make your educated guess on how many end users this would reach.
At least 10-20+ users would be affected by this.
Impact: how does it benefit users? - fill a major gap in their workflow, reduce the number of clicks, x times faster, etc.
This idea would fill a gap in workflow by adding an improvement to the creation of schedule enabled views. For example, in our workflow, as we work on iModels we'll create views to ease laborious tasks. When we go to set the default view prior to creating the 4D model, we'll inadvertently be creating an additional step for ourselves later in the iModel QC process. Returning back to the iModel after creating our 4D model would then open the schedule tab to our previous default view without showing any animation. This could lead to misidentification of an issue, lost time, or best of all just a few buttons click difference.
Business impact: user retention, new user growth, higher NPS?
Any prerequisites this would require? e.g. user should already have a basic 4D model created before they add equipment.
Prerequisites being that the iModel would have to be utilized for scheduling purposes as dictated by having the schedule tab in its sidebar.
