This is a very useful feature for model navigation and a continuation of my other idea -

I should be able to easily select objects from the tree, as the model tree might help me isolate objects I want to focus on, and then zoom into the selection location in the model.
Thank you for your feedback. This currently exists in the iModel viewer.
Here is how to do this:
1. Select something (should not matter if selected in view or in a list of elements)
2. Tools area (upper left of view), when something is selected, shows a group of contextual tools.
3. Select "Focus Selected Elements" left most menu item. (looks like a mag glass with a "+" inside).
this will fit to view anything selected.
ALSO: There are other options like 'Isolate' and 'Emphasize' that can do what you are suggesting.
