Currently for Status Update, Field user must select a task first, then will be prompted to the assigned 3D resources to the tasks. This is based on the assumption that user:

1) has a short list of tasks

2) understands what each task description/name means

3) the 4D model is clean and 3D(resources) assigned to the tasks are always correct

However this is not the case for most users and projects unless user has good 4D practice and has a clean model/ schedule.

Therefore we need to provide a mechanism for user to go beyond tasks and flexibility to status from the selected objects immediately, without having to consider tasks (or be constrained by tasks). This is also more intuitive when user is standing on the project site, they can easily relate the physical space (real world) to the model elements that they'd like to status.

Here is the proposal:

• Upon entering to the Status update page

• Present the whole model with R status colors

• Allow user to tap on an object

  • If this object is only assigned to one task (1:1), user will be prompted to view the all resources for the associated task.

  • If this object is assigned to more than one task (1:many), user will be guided to pick a task, then user will be prompted to view the resources for the selected task.

• User will be presented with the status pane at the bottom to start selection and statusing.
